Well here it is, my review in Absolute Underground. Click on it for full reading glory.

I find it a little meh, but I guess it isn't bad for a first try.

Little update

How about a nice monthly update for you fine folks? Here's what went on:

Hardcore kids take over the ferry on the way to Victoria's hardcore festival! It happened July 12th, which was a lovely summer day filled with good music and great friends. This was an all day affair, and I couldn't catch the last ferry home without missing some wicked bands. Solution: don't go home. I ended up sleeping in a van in someone's driveway for the night, woke up almost every hour, and probably had a seatbelt imprint on my face. Luckily I made it back to Vancouver on time to go straight to work and be exhausted the entire day. Oh hooray hooray.

SO WORTH IT.

I even got to see some awesome seals on the ferry! SEALS! Frolicking in the water! :D

Other events in July included seeing the amazing fireworks at the festival of lights. So fun! My friends and I would trek down to the beach in Kitts with the masses, sip our coffees and watch the best fireworks I've ever seen!!

A couple of nights ago Chelsea and I went to see Pat Benetar in concert. This isn't the type of live music I typically go to, so naturally I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. For what I thought would be an '80s has-been, Benetar ROCKED. That woman certainly knows how to entertain! We heard every song we wanted to hear, and really enjoyed every minute of it. Not as much as the six old fellows in front of us who gave a standing ovation after every song, mind you. They've probably had crushes on her since they were back in high school haha.
Today Kirsta and I went to the Art Gallery, walked around a hell of a lot, shopped, and generally had fun. Chelsea met up with us in the evening and we went to a nice, cheesy chick flick. I finally found a copy of the magazine that I wrote for, and will post a scan of my blurb soon. I may be writing for another independent magazine soon too! Hooray for me!

Now, much like every essay I've ever written, we've reached the point where I end abruptly because my brain has shut off. Goodniiiiiiiiiiiight! ;)
