C'est une joke?
I nearly spit my tea all over this Metro article yesterday. For real? I think someone let the Quebecois spell check run WILD.
Maybe it is quite on purpose. I've noticed some Franglais words being appropriated lately. Beurre de pinotte (peanut!)? Sloche (Slush!)? Une lice (a list!)? COME ON NOW. I'm going to start keeping a 'lice' of these new spellings. They're pretty entertaining. Elle oh elle. ;)
EDIT: apparently that's the way you spell his name in French. Um, ok.

This topic is fertile and even contagious. Try a "Coffee Crips" chocolate bar for instance. What anglo-bilingual family doesn't prefer to "close the lights" and have a "soft drink" rather than the western Canadian "pop?" I wager that the eastern Ontario town of L'Orignal is the most mis-spelled place in the area, followed by Longueuil.
I even know a lady who refers to Mozilla as her "Mozzarella" browser!

I particularly enjoy the verb "texter" as well as "cliquez sur l'icĂ´ne".
